I attended the Rooted in Success: Sally Beauty x Black Hair Experience pop-up at Union Market in Washington, D.C this past March.
The event sponsored by Shea Moisture, Kenya Moore Hair Care, TPH by Taraji, Design Essentials, Camille Rose Naturals, and Mielle Organics; had a massive turn out of women of color. My cousins and I must’ve waited at least an hour to get in.
We entered the venue just as the ever beautiful Kenya Moore, of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, was speaking, about motherhood.
Hearing Kenya acknowledge she still has a lot to learn as a mother, was a highlight, as she praised all the mother’s in the room for their contributions to raising children.
It was nice witnessing her growth, and how humbled she’s become, by her experiences.
Fast forward to May 2024, it’s Mother’s Day Weekend and I want to continue praising mother’s EVERYWHERE for their hard work and resilience.
