TRUE RELIGION resurges as Streetwear Heavyweight…. in 2024? // Shop Jayda Wayda, Saweetie, Bella Hadid, Kayla Nicole, Latto, Quavo & more looks here

Did you think there would be an online debate about TRUE RELIGION in 2024?? Neither did I!

But apparently here we are… discussing whether or not the Y2K stitch denim brand is still relevant today.

S***y Red and Latto even shaded each other last October. The ladies each claimed to be the first, to wear the respected streetwear brand. The feud ended when a Twitter (X) user shut down S***y Red’s claims, reminding fans that Latto’s Grammy party was sponsored by True Religion.

Funny though, this isn’t the first time the brand, made famous in the early 2000’s, by entertainers like Lil Kim, Jim Jones and No Doubts’ Gwen Stefani, has had a resurgence.

While the True Religion hype began to fade in the 2010s (particularly in areas like New York City), it’s never really died completely.

Jim Jones founder of Saucey Farms & Extracts and Co-Partner of Lue , hops out Lambo in We Fly High’ video (2007), rocking True Religion jeans.

2Chainz released a mixtape called T.R.U REALigion in 2011, and Music Producer Zaytoven produced a track for Gucci Mane, called TRUE RELIGION JEANS in 2013.

In 2019, the streetwear brand tapped Allen Onyia of Upscale Hype, for a role as Creative Director.

You can read more about the opportunity here, but I wonder if the influencer partnerships we’re seeing from the Designer Brand, is a result of Onyia’s work.

Well it looks like us snobby Americans missed something, because China just opened it’s first TRUE RELIGION store, with a ribbon cutting ceremony last week. The event was hosted by Asian Actress and Singer Cheng Xiao !

The video below gives another look at her outfit, including; a True Religion Corset, Denim Shorts, and Cropped Denim Jacket.

Xiao adds to the list of celebs supporting the brand including Bella Hadid, Jordyn Woods, Ice Spice, Quavo, DaniLeigh, Sevyn Streeter, Kayla Nicole, India Love Westbrooks, Suki Baby, Jayda Wayda and Dreezy; who currently has a design collaboration with True Religion!

But hold up! I browsed the site and immediately fell in love with this True Religion Jean Graphic Print Mesh Body Suit with matching Jean Graphic Print Mesh Flare Pants! It’s giving Grown Baddie vibes!

Also this Crop Denim Utility Vest with matching Bobbi Utility Baggy Jean takes me back to my roots as a 90’s Girl! Lol. No but seriously - I gotta have it!

So we going Baddie or Baggy?? Hit the images below to shop your look.

…. and for my accessories people…. This Horseshoe Crossbody Bag is everything!

I love this Sage color, but the Tan or Berry would probably go better with my adidas Ozweego Flat Boat Sneaker. Good thing there’s 8 colors to choose from!

Click the link above, or head over to my fashion Wish List to shop the look.

BONUS: So I know this post featured mostly neutral colors but I gotta throw these sick adidas Lucid (Hot) Pink Ozweego OG Shoes in the mix!

These would look super cute with True Religion Skinny, Cargo, or Flare Jeans… and if I’m heading to Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday 2 Tour; I’m rocking these with a Hot Pink Marc Jacobs Saddle Bag!
